Basler Product Documentation
Clear view on what really matters
With the newest generation of product documentation, Basler takes the next step to bring convenient access to our users. We invested in an HTML-based user's manual, which replaces the pdf-format documentation for ace GigE, ace USB 3.0, dart USB 3.0, pulse USB 3.0 and for all new products following in the future.
The brand new online version of the Basler Product Documentation opens the manual directly in your web browser and can be run on smartphones or tablets as well.
Main benefits of the new Basler Product Documentation:
With this new format, we implemented multiple benefits to increase ease of use and to reduce the provided content to what really matters for the chosen camera model.
Search function & feature tree
Compared to the .pdf version, the Basler Product Documentation in HTML format offers a simpler search function.
As well, a full and permanent feature tree on the left-hand side provides a structured navigation aid. It gives an easy overview of which features the selected camera model supports, or does not (grey).
Information structure
We displayed the available information in an easy-to-navigate structure. Organized by topic, this provides a good overview for better understanding.
Included links provide additional information to related topics or keywords.
Also, the customization to GenICam 1.2 and GenICam 2.0 is done automatically (e.g. feature naming and sample code).
Sample codes and tables
As another highlight, the sample codes are now available in different programming languages.
In addition, the overview tables with values and settings are specifically showing the data for the selected camera model. If required, you can also compare different camera models and switch to the full-series view.
Printing
With the option to choose one specific camera model, the manual only contains the information relevant to you. This leads to cost-effective printing as well as to a much faster way to look up specific details.
Offline usage
Another important aspect: the Basler Product Documentation can also be used completely offline (e.g. on the road or in a factory). The HTML manual is a package available on baslerweb.com and can be downloaded (as a zip file). It includes the whole manual as well as a file to start the software.
