Chairman of the Supervisory Board

Norbert Basler was born in Berlin on June 19, 1963. From 1983 to 1988, he studied mechanical engineering at the Clausthal Technical University majoring in electrical information technology. During his college years, Norbert Basler, together with one of his classmates, founded the Basler and Berendsen GmbH in the Lübeck technology center, which is today the Basler AG. In spring 2000 Norbert Basler left the Management Board and was elected to the Supervisory Board. He was appointed as chairman in 2003.

Horst W. Garbrecht

Horst W. Garbrecht

Horst W.Garbrecht has been Managing Director and President Industrial of CeramTech GmbH since January 2022. After serving as Chairman of the Management Board at the head of the Nürtingen-based power tool manufacturer Metabo until June 2021. After graduating, Horst W. Garbrecht began his career in the power tool industry in 1992 with the family-owned manufacturer Festool. In 1997, he switched to the Swedish engineering group Atlas Copco and in 2005 to the Hong Kong-Chinese power tool manufacturer TTI, where he was Technical Managing Director at AEG-Milwaukee from 2005 to 2008, responsible for the integration of the AEG and Milwaukee brands and the entire European Operations.

In September 2019, Horst W. Garbrecht was appointed Chief Operating Officer Europe (COOE) of the Japanese Metabo parent company KOKI Holdings Ltd. in parallel with his role as CEO of Metabo. He is thus also responsible for the European business of the sister brand HiKOKI. In 2015, Horst W. Garbrecht was elected to the supervisory board of Basler AG.

Dr. Mirja Steinkamp

Mirja Steinkamp earned her PhD from the University of Göttingen in 1997 and then went on to work as an auditing manager at the international auditing firm Ernst & Young GmbH. She rose to the position of Tax Consultant in 2002, and in 2004 completed her examination as a certified financial auditor.
Mirja Steinkamp then spent the next 13.5 years as the authorized signatory and executive at the Neumann Group GmbH, a globally active trade organization. She was responsible for the group accounting (global group reporting based on IFRS) and its Hamburg accounting department (HGB, IFRS).

In April 2017 she was appointed as a professor for auditing and corporate accounting, at NORDAKADEMIE, as well as a position on the Supervisory Board (Financial Expert) at Basler AG.

Lennart Schulenburg

Lennart Schulenburg, born in 1989, graduated in computer science in 2014 with a focus on image processing. From 2018 to 2020 he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at ESMT in Berlin. During his studies he worked freelance in sports marketing and part-time as a software developer. After graduating, he joined the family business VisiConsult X-ray Systems & Solutions GmbH, where he has been managing director since August 2020 starting as Global Sales Manager, via Sales and Marketing Management and as Commercial Manager.

Dorothea Brandes

Dorothea Brandes studied japanology, sinology and folklore studies at Tübingen University, Saitama University and Hamburg University and graduated in 1996 with a Master's degree.

She has been working for Basler AG since 2001 and is working as a Working Environment Manager. Dorothea Brandes worked at Basler for many years in the Communications department and as an organizational developer. She was a member of the Works Council for 16 years, 12 of these 16 years as a Head of Works Council (until May 2018).

In 2018, Basler employees elected Dorothea Brandes as employee representative to the Supervisory Board of Basler AG.

Dr. Marco Grimm

Member of the Supervisory Board

Marco Grimm studied electrical engineering at the Hamburg University of Technology and received his doctorate in 2007.

He started working at Basler AG in 2005 as a software developer. Since 2006 he has been the Basler AG representative to the international EMVA 1288 standardization committee. The committee defines characterization of image sensors and cameras.

From 2012 on Marco Grimm is in charge of the quality assurance platform within the production process as platform architect.

Marco Grimm is group leader of the software development team for quality assurance.

In 2018 Basler employees elected Marco Grimm as employee representative to the Supervisory Board of Basler AG.
