For the best possible operation of your Basler camera, pylon provides you with a set of optimized drivers for a rich choice of interfaces. Regardless of your decision, pylon’s drivers will guarantee the most reliable and fastest operation of your Basler cameras in real-time quality.
pylon allows connecting your cameras via USB3 Vision, GigE Vision, CoaxPress, and Camera Link. For embedded systems, even BCON for LVDS and MIPI are supported.
In comparison studies, pylon demonstrated an outstanding performance with regard to latency and jitter, making pylon suitable for stable image acquisition even in real-time applications.
Basler’s pylon camera software suite comprises GenTL producers for most interfaces, allowing you to connect your application directly and in a standardized way to the pylon drivers.
GenTL producers are available for USB3 Vision, GigE Vision, CoaxPress and BCON for MIPI.
The GenTL producers of pylon automatically decompress compressed images from cameras that support the Compression Beyond feature, lossy and lossless.
Note: The Compression Beyond feature is available on selected ace 2 Pro camera models only.
The pylon camera software suite is free software that can be installed and used right after downloading.
